RAKHI CELEBRATIONS ON 30 AUGUST IS INAUSPICIOUS-CAIT URGE GOVT TO NOTIFY 31 AUGUST AS RAKHI DAY

CAIT National Senior Vice President Amar Parwani, chairman Magelal Maloo , Amar Gidwani State President Jitendra Doshi , States Working President Vikram Singh Deo, Parmanand Jain , Vashu Makhija, state General secretary Suriender singh , State Working General secretary Bharat Jain, and State Treasure Ajay Agrawal informed In the wake of prevailing reservation among people of Delhi and rest of the Country on celebration of Rakhi festival on 30th August,2023, the Confederation of All India Traders ( CAIT) in a communication sent today to Shri Govind Mohan, Secretary, Ministry of Culture, has urged that in view of the fact that most inauspicious “ Bhadra Kaal” is falling on 30th August, the celebration of Rakhi during this period will be inauspicious and therefore the Rakhi festival should be celebrated on 31st August and accordingly, the Government should change the holiday date to 31st August.
CAIT National Senior Vice President Mr. Amar Parwani and State President Mr. Jitendra Doshi in communication to Shri Govind Mohan said that as per Indian astrology and Vedic terms, the period of ” Bhadra” is falling on 30th August from 10.58 am to 9.02 pm and while doing any auspicious work, special care is taken of Bhadra Yoga, because the beginning or end of Mangal Utsav during the Bhadra period is considered inauspicious and due to this important reason, the Rakhi festival can not be celebrated on 30th August,2023. A state of confusion has arrived as to when the Rakhi festival is to be observed. Various Vedic scholars while studying the Panchang have opined that instead of 30th August, the Rakhi festival should be celebrated on 31st August,2023 which is auspicious from all respects keeping intact the vedic and astrology calculations.
Mr. Parwani & Mr. Doshi said that though 30th August will be a Government holiday but because of the above peculiar situation, the people will not be able to celebrate Rakhi festival which is one of the most pious and ancient festivals of India depicting the love and affection among Brothers & Sisters. It is added that the hindu festivals are celebrated in the Country by its guiding principles of Panchang and calculations of “Navgrah”.
Acharya Durgesh Tare, renowned Vedic scholar of Ujjain and Chairman of Vedic & Astrology Committee of CAIT said that Bhadra is the sister of Lord Shani Dev and the daughter of the Sun God. She has a very rigid nature and to control her temper in general, she was recognized as Vishishkaran, a major part of the Panchang. When the auspicious time of auspicious work is observed, special care is taken of the Bhadra period and auspicious work is done except in the Bhadra period.According to Vedas, the residence of Bhadra is determined by the sign of the Moon. It is believed that when the Moon is in Cancer, Leo, Aquarius, or Pisces, then Bhadra resides on the earth thereby restricting solemnization of any auspicious work.
Acharya Tare further said that many works are considered not to be solemnised in Bhadra which include shaving ceremonies, home commencement, marriage ceremony, home entry, Rakshabandhan, auspicious journeys, starting a new business, and all kinds of auspicious work are restricted in Bhadra. Therefore, there will be a total mess if the Raksha Bandhan holiday is kept scheduled for 30th August and the current situation demands that Rakhi should be celebrated on 31st August
